The OraWorldMandala Theater originated from artistic research on the concept of the Mandala, an archetype of universal peace: Ora , Latin for "invitation to pray", World , our planet and its human continent, and Mandala meaning "circle of goodwill" in Sanskrit.

The concept of Mandala has taken shape from the visions of many ancient civilizations and traditions where external reality is perceived as a reflection of human consciousness. The Mandala represents the chain of interdependence from comprehension through motivation and intention to action. It represents the resonance that arises when elements and forces are in equilibrium and harmony with each other.

The mission of the OraWorldMandala Theater is to tell the story of social transformation through eight experiments, based on the eight areas of action of the UN Program of Action for a Culture of Peace , namely:

Education for a Culture of Peace
Human Rights and Responsibilities
Gender Equality
Disarmament and International Security
Understadning, Tolerance, and Solidarity
Democratic Participation
Sustainable Economic and Social Development
Participitory Communication and Freedom of Information

The eight experiments are proposed to study, to develop, and to produce art with the aim of spreading peace and non-violence on a global level as we create a world that creates instead of destroys.

The eight experiments, inspired by Mahatma Gandhi's philosophy, will integrate the different cultures of the world through the art, spirituality and science of the Mandala. They propose a series of actions performed by people who share this vision of a peaceful planet, and who are willing to explore their own evolution, and those of their associated institutions, along the way.

Through the eight experiments the OraWorldMandala works through a collective and inclusive peoples' Theater for peace and active non-violence, building bridges of reconciliation among realities divided by their differences. All participants, regardless of their culture, class, gender or personal biliefs, can be constructors of peace.

The artistic offering of earth, fire, water, air and space, respectively, is the main focus of the Theater to represent a vision of a Mandala of the five elements.

The participants in OraWorldMandala constitute O.R.A., the Organism for Reconciliation through Art, a worldwide community in which art, economics, science and spirituality intersect in the collective comprehension of our interdependence and oneness.

As the first, ongoing, experiment, the Archive of the Earth is open to receive soils offered from sites and communities all over the world. Individuals and groups who share an understanding of Ahimsa are invited to participate.
